Travis Hunter Set to Sign With Lil Wayne's Young Money Sports Agency
Travis Hunter is reportedly preparing to sign with Lil Wayne's Young Money APAA Sports agency for his NFL representation. This move comes after the highly anticipated Heisman Trophy winner reportedly passed on offers from major agencies such as WME, CAA, Klutch Sports Group, and Athletes First, according to Front Office Sports. Hunter, who is considered a top contender in next year’s NFL Draft, has chosen to align himself with Wayne's growing sports agency.
Hunter recently expressed his gratitude to Lil Wayne during his Heisman acceptance speech, offering a heartfelt tribute to the rapper. "Wayne, you don’t know how you came into my life, man," Hunter said on stage. "My fiancée loves you. I didn’t know any of your songs until she introduced me to them because I don’t listen to music." He went on to explain that from that moment, Wayne’s music became his go-to pregame soundtrack. "When I get in that [Dodge Ram] TRX and I blast that music, I’m listening to Wayne."
Lil Wayne quickly responded with his own message of congratulations on X (formerly Twitter), writing: "Congratulations 2my brudda Travis mfkn Hunter!!! Heisman Trophy winner! Great speech King & Moms speech was just as amazing! She need 2b on tv somewhere!" Wayne also sent shout-outs to other Heisman finalists and offered his well-wishes to Hunter's future.
In addition to his on-field success, Hunter has been making headlines for his personal life, particularly his relationship with high school sweetheart Leanna Lenee. The couple is engaged, with their wedding planned for next year.
This move to join Young Money APAA Sports marks a significant step in Hunter’s burgeoning career, both on and off the field.
