Tyler, the Creator Mentions Coco Gauff in New Album
Rapper Tyler, the Creator recently dropped his new album CHROMAKOPIA, and tennis star Coco Gauff got a special mention. In the track titled "Thought I Was Dead", featuring ScHoolboy Q and Santigold, Tyler references Gauff, catching the attention of the young athlete.
In response to the mention, Gauff shared her thoughts on the album: "Biased opinion: it's fire. Unbiased opinion: it's fire, don't take my word for it, go listen to the Album for yourself," she posted on social media. Tyler, the Creator, 33, released his seventh studio album on Monday, generating buzz in both the music and sports worlds.
Meanwhile, Gauff, currently ranked No. 3 in the world, recently suffered a semifinal loss to Aryna Sabalenka at the Wuhan Open, with a scoreline of 6-1, 4-6, 4-6. Just days earlier, the 20-year-old Gauff had claimed her second title of the season, winning the China Open in impressive fashion, defeating Karolina Muchova 6-1, 6-3. This victory made Gauff the youngest player in 14 years to win the China Open.
In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Gauff continued to make waves, securing a victory over top-ranked Sabalenka in the WTA Finals. Gauff triumphed 7-6 (4), 6-3, breaking Sabalenka’s serve six times, and advanced to the final where she will face Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen. At 20, Gauff is the youngest player to reach the WTA Finals since Caroline Wozniacki in 2010.
Zheng also had an impressive win, defeating Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova 6-3, 7-5 to book her spot in the final. The Chinese player has been on an incredible run, winning 31 of her last 36 matches since Wimbledon.
