Transfer rumors, news: Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool eye Larsson

Transfer Roundup: Premier League Clubs Eye Hugo Larsson; Man City Target Zubimendi in January

Eintracht Frankfurt’s highly regarded midfielder, Hugo Larsson, is reportedly drawing attention from top Premier League sides, including Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Arsenal, as per Florian Plettenberg. The 20-year-old Swedish talent, who moved to Frankfurt from Malmö FF in 2023, has impressed since his arrival in the Bundesliga. Although he has attracted significant interest from clubs across Europe, Larsson is said to feel settled at Frankfurt, particularly after recently extending his contract until 2029. Nonetheless, the Premier League trio is closely monitoring his progress.

In another development, Football Insider suggests that Manchester City could look to bring in Martín Zubimendi from Real Sociedad this January. The 25-year-old midfielder previously rejected a €60m move to Liverpool, but sources indicate he may now reconsider that decision. With Rodri injured, City are in need of midfield reinforcements and are reportedly prepared to test Zubimendi’s resolve in the winter transfer window. Zubimendi has been a regular starter for Sociedad this season, making 15 appearances, and has a €60m release clause in his contract.

Meanwhile, The Mirror reports that Manchester United, under new manager Rúben Amorim, are targeting a veteran defender. Amorim is said to be keen on Juventus’ 33-year-old Brazilian full-back Danilo, who is out of contract in the summer and could be available at a reduced price in January. While Danilo would bring experience, United fans may hope for a younger and more high-profile defender to arrive at Old Trafford.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich are all reportedly in the hunt for Sporting CP’s rising star, Ousmane Diomande. The 20-year-old Ivorian centre-back has caught the eye with his performances in Portugal, and Sporting are said to be open to offers that meet his €80m release clause. Arsenal made a €35m bid for Diomande last summer, but the offer was rejected. With several major clubs now in the race, a bidding war for the defender could be on the horizon.

Lastly, Ekrem Konur reveals that Bundesliga sides Bayer Leverkusen and Union Berlin are preparing to make a move for Reiss Nelson. The Arsenal winger, currently on loan at Fulham, could be set for another transfer when his loan spell ends next summer. Nelson, who previously spent time in Germany with Hoffenheim during the 2018-19 season, is no stranger to the Bundesliga and may be headed for another stint in Germany.
