UCL Highlights: Jamal Musiala Leads Bayern Munich to Victory Over Benfica, While Brest and Atalanta Maintain Strong Performances

UEFA Champions League Round-Up: Musiala’s Header Secures Bayern’s Win; Brest and Atalanta Continue Strong Form

Jamal Musiala's header in the 67th minute sealed a 1-0 victory for Bayern Munich over Benfica, helping the German side return to winning ways in the UEFA Champions League. After a tough 4-1 loss to Barcelona, Bayern bounced back with four straight wins across all competitions, including this narrow victory in Lisbon. Musiala’s goal came from a well-placed cross by Harry Kane, ensuring Bayern's campaign regained momentum after a rough patch.

Benfica had previously opened their European campaign with a commanding 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb, but the Portuguese side struggled in their recent outings. Musiala’s decisive header highlighted Bayern's strength in response to their loss against Barcelona, who themselves continue to dominate in the competition.

In other Wednesday action, French side Brest moved up to fourth in their group with a 2-1 win over Sparta Prague. Edimilson Fernandes gave them the lead in the 37th minute with a volley off a corner, and Sparta's Kaan Kairinen scored an own goal late to give Brest a two-goal cushion. Despite a stoppage-time goal by Victor Olatunji for the hosts, Brest held firm for their third win in four group matches, continuing their strong European run.

Atalanta also maintained their excellent form with a 2-0 win over Stuttgart. Ademola Lookman, who has been in fine scoring form, bagged his fifth goal in four matches after finishing a low cross from Charles De Ketelaere. Nicolo Zaniolo secured the victory with a second goal, as Gian Piero Gasperini’s side recorded their seventh win in eight matches.

Meanwhile, RB Salzburg ended their rough patch in the competition with a 3-1 win over Feyenoord, who played much of the match with 10 men. Arsenal suffered their first loss of the season in a 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan, with Hakan Calhanoglu scoring the only goal via a first-half penalty. Barcelona continued their dominant form with a 5-2 victory over Crvena Zvezda in Serbia, with Robert Lewandowski scoring a brace. Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning Ligue 1 champions, were defeated 2-1 by Atletico Madrid after a last-minute goal by Angel Correa.
