Transfer Rumors: Zirkzee's Potential Early Exit from Man United & Davies Linked to Barcelona

Joshua Zirkzee’s future at Manchester United could already be in doubt, despite only joining the club this past summer. According to reports from Calciomercato, the Dutch forward is facing a possible exit in January. The 23-year-old, who made the switch from Bologna, has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford, netting just one goal in 11 Premier League appearances. United’s new manager, Rúben Amorim, is reportedly ready to part ways with Zirkzee, with plans to bring in Viktor Gyökeres in the near future. Serie A clubs are believed to be interested in Zirkzee.

In other transfer news, Teamtalk reports that Barcelona are eyeing a move for Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies. The 24-year-old Canadian left-back is thought to be on manager Hansi Flick's radar, and Bayern Munich may face competition from several other European clubs. Davies, whose contract is set to expire in 2025, will enter the final six months of his deal in January, allowing clubs outside the Bundesliga to negotiate a pre-contract agreement. Despite his contract uncertainty, Davies has remained an essential part of Bayern’s squad this season, making 14 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports' Dharmesh Sheth reports that Premier League clubs are keeping a close eye on Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. The French international is reportedly in advanced talks to terminate his contract with the Serie A club, which runs until 2026. As Pogba prepares for a potential return to action in March, multiple clubs from England, Europe, MLS, and Saudi Arabia are said to be interested in his services.

Bayern Munich, on the other hand, have no intention of selling winger Leroy Sané, according to Sky Sport Deutschland's Florian Plettenberg. The 28-year-old Germany international is said to be eager to extend his stay at the club, but to do so, he may need to accept a wage reduction of €2m to €4m on his current €20m per year contract. Sané has been limited to just one league start this season and is set to enter the final six months of his deal in January.

Lastly, Football Insider reports that Atalanta are open to offers for midfielder Éderson in January. The 25-year-old Brazilian, who has been capped twice by his national team, is reportedly being considered by Manchester City as a potential replacement for the injured Rodri, who will be out for the remainder of the season. While a move in January is expected to be challenging, Atalanta are said to be willing to listen to offers if they receive a “significant bid” for Éderson’s services.
